SocialStars

Social Stars · a community for dance festivals

Make real connections. Keep them.

Being builtKeeping them from festival to festival

Social Stars helps festival-goers make and keep real connections. It is not a social network.

Opt-in. Mutual. Made in person.

What we want to create

One account, one profile, your connections and your festival history, from festival to festival.

  • Being builtAccount, profile and connections across festivals
  • PlannedFestival history

That’s the goal. What works today is listed under Where it stands.

A line appears only when both people say yes: a QR at the event, a share link, or a request the other person accepts.

“Did the person who came alone come back?”

The question we measure ourselves by.
A community, not a network
Carried by you, if you joinStays with each festival
Your accountTickets and orders
Your profileCheck-ins
Your mutual connections
Your festival history

Joining is your choice. On lalunafestival.com it stays off unless you tick it, nothing else changes if you don’t, and you can leave any time.

Goals

  1. Real connections, mutual only.

Mutual only: both people say yes, by a QR at the event, a share link or an accepted request. No one-sided following.

    Liveon each festival’s own app

  2. Kept across festivals.

One account, profile and set of connections that travel with you from one Social Stars festival to the next.

    Being built

  3. A welcome for whoever walks in alone.

A first-timer welcome at the door, so a dancer who came alone meets someone and comes back.

Where it stands

What works today, what is being built, and what comes later.

Live

  • Live“Join Social Stars” on lalunafestival.com. It’s on My Page, stays off unless you tick it, and you can leave any time.
  • LiveOn each festival’s own app, nordicoslo.com and lalunafestival.com, separately:
    • an opt-in profile for that festival
    • “Who’s here”, a directory you choose to appear in
    • mutual connections, by QR at the event or an accepted request
    • “Going” lists
    • delete or export your data

Today, a profile on one festival doesn’t carry over to the other.

Being built

  • Being builtOne account, profile and connections carried across Social Stars festivals. Until the shared service exists, La Luna keeps opt-ins on its own site.

Planned

  • PlannedFestival history: “you both danced at…”
  • PlannedNordic members invited to join, with one opt-in email.
  • PlannedA directory and requests across festivals.
  • PlannedSingle sign-on across festival sites.
  • PlannedA first-timer welcome at the door.
  • PlannedA room view for ambassadors.
  • PlannedWarm follow-ups.

By design

These are product rules, not guidelines. They are true today.

  • No feed. No posts, likes or follower counts.
  • No scores. No rankings and no sociability scores.
  • No messaging.
  • Only what you switch on. Nothing about you is shown that you didn’t switch on.
  • Never stored: conversation content, location, scores, notes about a person.
  • Never an audience. Membership is never a marketing audience.
  • Your choice. Joining stays off unless you tick it, and you can leave any time.
